Mythical Tomorrow

Following in the footsteps of days gone by

To be the leader of a tomorrow deep in the horizon

For chance I ne'er can get 

Just dream in hazy slumber

As yesterday's leaders lead on.

An everlasting rule of yesterday

Today can only watch

And wait for divine justice

If exist it does.

'Tis not the waiting I fear

Rather what it does to me

Following footsteps that are not even there

Since their owners still stand in them.

The tomorrow of tales

Mythical like the ogre

Existing in stories of days gone by

Touted as the reality of the future.
